Goethe Institut Hong Kong

The first of the exhibition spaces is barricaded with soft barriers taylored in British winter tweed. The back space is blocked by plastic barriers from China that are held together with umbrellas. The barriers are flashing with colourful lights. Both spaces are connected with orange tape strapping blocks of yellow Post-It notes to the wall. Yellow and orange are codes for the umbrella-resistance-movement in Hong Kong. Umbrellas and Post-It notes are subtle references to past actions of the movement, which gave Hong Kong moments of free speach and unity.
